The Director, Technical Business Solutions will be responsible for leading a team who rapidly develops innovative solutions to business challenges. This critical role will collaboratively work with stakeholders, business relations teams, and other IT teams across iHeartMedia to understand business needs, develop highly targeted approaches to problems, and deliver product with minimal impact to ongoing business operations. The ideal candidate will have expertise in a wide array of technologies and makes solutions choices to ensure intended business results are achieved. This role should demonstrate a blend of true customer advocacy and technical expertise daily.
Communicate effectively and manage executive-level relationships to identify needs and evaluate technical solutions
Swiftly problem-solve business/technical issues for customers with products while evaluating cost/technical debt incurred by solution recommendation.
Become a company thought leader in support of the key business processes enabled by our systems.
Establish strong partnerships with other IT teams (enterprise architecture, information management, operations) across iHeartMedia to ensure direction and approach aligns with the technology stack.
Develop team members into highly skilled troubleshooting experts who can diagnose a wide variety of issues quickly, growing specialized developers to full stack ones
Build and lead a lean team of skilled professionals with subject matter expertise and experience that meets iHeartMedia needs. Create and execute employee development plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Proactively identify, circumvent, avoid and/or resolve issues and problems that have an adverse impact on projects.
Lead operational excellence within team with a focus on reliable execution and consistent delivery of high-quality services to our customers.
Ensure high levels of operational discipline and high availability for all systems and integrations we have built.
Lead and manage capacity/resources within budget and schedule for development cycles.
Develop and drive attainment of our key success metrics and KPI’s.
Develop and maintain product list which will allows for quick evaluation to refactor, extend or replace systems and technologies as needed in accordance with architecture and strategy.
Create and manage a wholistic roadmap for our B2B websites, while managing not only the platform but also the business goals/needs.
Understand product roadmaps for key technology vendors and ensure that we are driving and aligning where appropriate.
Establish strong competencies in and supporting of the multiple toolsets required in support of rapid product delivery.
Keep abreast of industry standards and ensure we are driving those that are important to us and aligned with others as appropriate.
Keep track of innovation and technology trends in relevant industries and of leading vendors.
8 years of experience building a technical, customer-facing team.
Experience in developing and maintaining architecture and platforms for large-scale, mission-critical systems in alignment with a rapidly evolving business strategy.
Demonstrated organizational development and personnel management skills appropriate to this position in a large IT organization.
Experience in developing executive-level relationships within the business teams and leveraging these relationships to ensure success.
Demonstrated ability to develop team goals, priorities, and tactics, and work alongside team to accomplish them.
Highly proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, with an attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
Thrive and quickly execute in an environment of rapid change, minimal structure, and high expectations.
Uncompromising standards of quality in building and delivering solutions.
Proven ability to operate in a customer focused environment and advocate for customers across a cross-functional organization.
Strong understanding of benefits of the various programming languages.
Extensive experience with rapid development, CI/CD and cloud.
Experience in developing and managing vendor relationships.
