Creates, directs and produces highly regarded shows and programs in one or more radio stations.
Is responsible for all aspects for the show production from beginning to end.
Handles identification of, booking and scheduling contributors, guests and guest hosts.
Develops/produces content, writes scripts, pulls relevant news audio for use in program, works with show clocks, and sets the show schedule, and directs on-air talent in conjunction with the show outline/time-line.
Manages and handles show logistics, remote broadcasts, digital content plans, audio editing, etc.
Holds pre-production briefings for on-air talent, guests and technical staff.
Manages logistics of getting people, resources and equipment together to the right place at the right time.
Works with phone screener and host to engage quality on-air callers.
May work on location producing outside broadcasts.
Strong understanding of and passion for conservative talk radio.
Strong understanding and knowledge of national and international political news and good sense of daily news cycle and talk radio/TV talk topics.
Understanding of the radio market, different station/program styles, audience demographics and ratings best practices
Excellent writing and storytelling skills; ability to tailor and adapt content for different audiences and platforms (on air vs digital).
Strong knowledge of digital media and social platforms.
Excellent audio editing and image manipulation software skills.
Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, and to react quickly to changes
Ability to work regular evening hours (daily)
Excellent planning and organizing skills
Excellent communication skills
5+ years’ experience as Radio Producer
Background in conservative talk a huge plus
- 4-year college degree preferred
