Job Summary:

The Security Engineer job role requires a very motivated goal driven individual with strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented, with a strong work ethic, able to work with minimal supervision. The job role also requires an individual who will act as a technical liaison with groups within and outside of iHeartMedia IT. The Security Engineer’s primary job role is to reduce risk to iHeartMedia Information Systems, Platforms and Applications through the understanding and use of various data security technologies, applications, methodologies, industry standards and third party solutions.

Good understanding of the following:

  • TCP/IP and other related protocols.

  • Familiarity with vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, anomaly detection and associated technologies

  • Some experience with tools, techniques and standards used to conduct network penetration testing of assets in a Windows, Unix and Linux platform

  • Experience with web development tools, techniques and standards used to conduct application penetration testing for applications that support but not limited to Java,.Net, JBoss, PHP, WebDev a plus.

  • Familiar with commercial and open source web penetration testing tools

  • Familiar with endpoint protection technologies and products

  • Able to tailor and follow hardening guides and hardening best practices

  • SQL, MySQL, Oracle and associated hardening best practices

  • Familiarity with hacking techniques and appropriate countermeasures.

  • Experience with firewalls, rule base analysis, stateful inspection, encryption and associated algorithms

  • Familiarity with common threat methodologies such as SANS and OWASP

Able to read, understand and interpret at least two of the following:

  • Packet captures

  • Regex expressions

  • Firewall Rules

  • Access Control lists

Job Experience

  • 2 – 4 years in a large corporate environment

  • 2 - 5 years in an information security support role

Desired Technical Certifications

  • Security+ or equivalent required. Must be able to obtain CISSP within 12 months of hire. Associate level CISSP is acceptable for those with less time in grade.

  • ITIL preferred or can be obtained within 12 months of date of employment.

  • Any SANS Certifications are a plus

Reducing risk through threat mitigation which may involve supporting the following:

  • Performs vulnerability scanning which includes analysis and coordinating remediation

  • Performs anomaly detection, analysis, and coordinating remediation

  • Technical security controls are managed to ensure the security and resilience of systems and assets, consistent with related policies, procedures, and agreements.

  • Performs intrusion detection analysis and coordinating remediation

  • Monitors information systems to identify security events and to verify security controls are in place and operating as designed.

  • Ensures data is managed and protected in accordance to corporate risk strategy.

  • Drives all incident response and mitigation activities in coordination with other IT divisions.

  • Drives recovery activities and maintains recovery plan.

  • Works with Governance to establish security policies and procedures.

  • Works with Threat Intelligence to implement and manage technical security solutions to protect the enterprise

  • Participates as appropriate in the planning and implementation of any Information Security related projects

  • Assist in performing security risk evaluations and penetration assessments with third party contractors or services.

Desired Education

  • Bachelors Degree Desirable

  • MS Degree Optional
